We are lucky enough to be located in an area of England that boasts a stunning variety of places of interest, landmarks and towns to visit and there is a wealth of beauty and history to be explored. There are also quite a few fascinating gardens, buildings and grounds owned by The National Trust.
The surrounding area is awash with country pursuits – a sportsman can enjoy polo, hunting, eventing and Point to Point as well as shooting, stalking and fishing. We frequently host shooting lunches and cater for sporting events and because of its outstanding beauty, this area is very popular with ramblers and cyclists as well – we are on the official Wiltshire cycle route and are a popular stop over for refreshments.
We have numerous well renowned golf courses nearby - Bowood, Castle Combe, Michinhampton and The Players to mention just a few.
We are also in a keen Rugby area and have “organised” several trips to support Bath Rugby Club when they play at home.
We host annual vintage, veteran and car club rally/meetings who make terrific use of our large flat parking areas.
Just down the road is the world famous Westonbirt Arboretum, the Beaufort Polo Club, Badminton and Gatcombe.
We are also very conveniently placed for Bath Race Course, Newbury and Chepstow and of course there is motor racing at Castle Combe.
Of course we are spoilt for choice in the shopping stakes with Tetbury (featuring the famous “Highgrove” shop) and the multitude of antique shops. Malmesbury is under 10 minutes away with its beautiful old Abbey and Abbey Gardens (recently made “infamous” for its nude gardeners!) and historic Georgian Bath is only a 25 minute drive.
