Charlie and I were chuffed to death to be awarded “The Wine Pub of the Year for Great Britain 2008” by The Good Pub Guide and remain extremely diligent with our tastings!!

We specialise in stocking a wide selection of wines and are also justifiably rather proud of our dessert wines, ports, old brandies, malt whisky and armagnacs - try one from the decade of your birth - as well as our fine range of real ales, beers and refreshing lagers.

We offer in excess of 40 wines by the glass competitively priced from £3.35 (Viogner Patriache or Merlot Patriache to £6.40 (white Sancerre, Domaine des Godons). Rose wines have become increasingly popular over the past year and we now have 8 (including sparkling) in our cellar.

We have a comprehensive list of Champagnes – some available by the glass, 20cl bottle and half bottles. We have our house champagne for £26.50 per bottle, plus 9 other well known brands. Grand Marque Champagnes include Taittinger Rose, Comptes de Champagne Rose, Veuve Cliquot, Krug and Dom Perignon.

In the winter months we offer a seriously tasty mulled wine. At any time of the year you can partake of our award winning Bloody Marys by glass or jug, properly made in a shaker with Absolut chilli pepper vodka, grated horseradish, Lea and Perrins, Tabasco, lemon juice, celery salt, black pepper, tomato juice and ice, finished off with Tio Pepe Sherry.

In the summer you can relax in the sun or shade on our Terrace with jugs of ice cold Pimms or House Champagne offered with Cassis, Peach Liqueur or freshly squeezed orange juice to refresh and invigorate in the hot sunshine.
